1993
|
Coastal Capital was established in 1993 to provide
Asia-Pacific absolute return investment management services
to a multi-billion dollar US hedge fund group. |
1996
|
Coastal
obtained an unrestricted securities dealers licence and
started providing absolute return investment advice to European
investment banks, US hedge funds and wealthy investors.
In 2000 this licensed was upgraded to enable Coastal to
serve as a "responsible entity" and manager of public offer
managed investment schemes. |
1999
|
Coastal
commenced developing hedge fund products designed especially for Australian institutional and retail
investors. |
2000
|
Coastal launched the Coastal Magnum Diversified Performance Fund
- the first diversified fund of hedge funds available for
both Australian wholesale and retail investors. |

2002 |
Coastal launched the Coastal
International Equity Fund - the first diversified fund of
long short equity hedge funds benchmarked to a major
international equity market index that was designed for
long-only institutional international equity investors in Australia. |

2003 |
Coastal obtains Australian
Financial Services Lic. no 247036 which enables it to serve
as a responsible entity and manager of public offer managed
investment schemes. |

2007 |
Coastal is approved by the Irish
Financial Services Regulatory Authority as a promoter and
manager of managed investment schemes |
|
2008 |
Coastal launches Global Common
Fund plc, an Irish fund vehicle designed to pool the pension
fund assets of defined benefit pension fund investors.
